 Exciting News!

LPS Food Services has updated its elementary school lunch program to better meet the needs of students and families. The improved menu offers choices of low fat and fiber rich entree items packed with nutrition to help children grow and learn.

Based on feedback from parents and students, Food Services has re-engineered recipes and food specifications to contain less fat and more fiber than before. In addition, the menu has been expanded to include fresh salads, or rice and noodle bowls (made with whole grains) as entree choices. Fresh fruit and vegetable side dishes will also be available every day.

For more information, contact LPS Food Services at (303) 347-3360.

 Important Info About Lunch

Please note the following:

- As always, we encourage parents to come and have lunch with their children. If you decide to buy your lunch from us that day, please call ahead and let us know you’ll be here: (303) 347-4706.

- Students will be allowed to have only one lunch charge on record with the Twain lunch program. Students will not be allowed to charge ala carte items. If your child has a charge "on the books", it must be paid before your child will be allowed to charge again. Your child can continue to eat lunch as long as he/she brings cash.

You will receive three different notices if you child has charges. First, your child's hand will be stamped with the words "I charged" in red ink. Second, we will send home a sheet stating your child's name, the date of the charge, and a reminder that your child will be given crackers, cheese and milk if another charge is made. Third, a letter will be sent via the postal service the day your child charges a lunch. The letter will indicate the date of the charge and serve as a reminder that, should your child charge again, he/she will be given an alternative meal of crackers, cheese and milk.

- We very much want to honor the wishes of parents who prefer that their child make only specific purchases with money on account. If that is your preference, please write on your check, lunch account only--no snacks. You may also send a signed note with your child on any given day, stating it is okay to buy a snack.
